Engage – is our new weekly group for 11′s-15′s – meeting in the ‘Attic Youth Centre’
Engage is a group for young people of secondary school age. We meet every Friday evening during term time in The Attic Youth Centre behind the Vicarage on Forbes Road from 7pm – 8.30pm. Engage sets out to help young people engage with God, each other and the world.
Being a young Christian in today’s environment is challenging and at times daunting. Engage seeks to help young people to grow strong in their faith and to developing significant relationships with other youngsters of their own age who are also growing in their faith journey.
Our programme is fun, energetic and imaginative. As well as putting on social events and activities, engage is also a place for hanging out together. Bible exploration and the teaching of life skills help equip young people for the challenges they face in today’s world. We have an outward focus too – as well as supporting a child in India our young people are encouraged to reach out to their friends.
- Kidz Klub – weekly for 5 – 11s
Most of the events take place at the Attic Youth Project or in the Memorial Hall. A map of this location can be found on google maps.
St John’s youth work complies with the requirement of the current legislation in respect of Child Protection and has a detailed Child Protection Policy, which can be made available to you on request. All volunteers have Enhanced CRB Checks (Police Checks) and we endeavour to train all volunteers in Child Protection Issues. We have a Child Protection Officer who is responsible for all issues regarding the protection and welfare of the children, young people and families we work with. The contact details for our Child Protection Officer can be made available to you, should you wish to have them.
